Welcome to Smith Miner

Margaret Ann Swartzendruber, 89, of Midland, passed away on November 30, 2020 at K & K Quality Care AFC. She was born on May 16, 1931 to the late Vernon and Lydia (Stoner) McClain. On September 22, 1951 she married Mahlon Swartzendruber and they shared 44 wonderful years together before he predeceased her in 1995.


Margaret enjoyed planting trees, tending to her yards, baking especially making pies. She gave much of her time and talents to her congregation. Margaret not only gave many hours of service, she devoted over 8 years in the full-time ministry. Outside of ministry, family was most important to her.


Margaret is survived by her children, Tracy (Wendy) Swartzendruber, Karen (Bruce) Snyder, Marlon (Linda) Swartzendruber, Tim (Luanne) Swartzendruber, Terry (Karen) Swartzendruber, Donna (Steve) Loesser and 17 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Donna Wontorcik, Lois Bailey, Joyce (Bob) Haner and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Clarissa Swartzendruber, and brothers, Harrison, Ronald, Maynard, Larry and Bernard McClain.


The family of Margaret would like to send a special thank you out to K & K Quality Care AFC for all the wonderful care they gave Margaret.


Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.

    My grandmother was everything a grandmother should have been to me. And I appreciate how she treated each and every one of her children with love and respect. I am proud to be part of her family and grateful for her example to follow, both in raising my family and showing faith in Jehovah God.
