Margaret (Hewitt) Holzschu Wise, daughter of the late Jay and Minnie (Nadolskey) Hewitt died on Dec. 12, 2010 at the Auburn Heights Senior Care Center. She was born on September 10, 1918 in Resort Township, Petoskey, Michigan. She attended school in Resort Township and Petoskey. On September 18, 1937, she married John Holzschu and they were married 48 years before his death on February 23, 1985. Margaret was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Midland. Margaret enjoyed bowling on the Forest Bowling League for 25 years. She was President of the league for many years. She loved to knit and would share her creations with many friends. She enjoyed attending Happy Diners and was on the advisory board for the group. She was a member of the Midland Cribbage Club and enjoyed socializing there with her friends. She enjoyed many special times with her family and will be remembered by friends and family for her baking skills, especially her homemade pies. On September 7, 1987, she married Harold Wise. He predeceased her on Nov. 7, 1991. Her parents, her brother, Clayton Hewitt, and her sister, Bea Cook also predeceased her. She is survived by her son, Richard Holzschu and his wife, Betty; granddaughter, Laurin (all of Traverse City) and grandson Deron Holzschu of Austin, TX; one great grandson, Tavin, of Traverse City; two nieces, Shirley Caron and Betty Ingram of Petoskey. A Funeral Service will be held at First United Methodist Church on Friday, Dec. 17 at 1:00 pm with Reverend Dr. Charles Keyworth officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church on Friday, from 12:00 noon until the time of the service.
