Marie J. Russo, 94, of Midland and formerly of St. Louis, MO, died at the Toni and Trish House in Auburn, surrounded by her loving family and fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Catholic Church. Marie was born in St. Louis, MO, on Oct. 6, 1916 to the late Mary (Gilardi) and Michael Mantia. Marie worked for many years at Robin?ÇÖs Shoe Store selling children’s corrective Stride Rite shoes. She blessed many children’s lives with her kind, gentle, loving way. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She loved St. Louis Cardinal Baseball, crocheting, working in her garden and visits from her grandchildren. She was a resident at Cascades Senior Living Center and her family wishes to thank the staff for their loving care and friendship. Marie was a beloved grandmother and great grandmother. Marie is survived by her son Matthew Russo of Tracy, CA; daughter, Patricia (David) Sierawski of Midland; grandchildren, Greg Russo, Jeff (Sarah) Sierawski, Brian (Heather) Sierawski; great grandchildren, Andrew, Claire, Carter, Jenna; sisters, Theresa Ferretti, Angie Strew, Augie Morrison, Ann Kolbet; brother, Francis Mantia; and many nieces and nephews. Marie was predeceased by her sisters, Ida Mantia, Phyllis Chester; brothers, William Mantia, Anthony Mantia and Gus Mantia. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 26th, at the Kutis Funeral Home, 10151 Gravois. St. Louis MO 63123. Mass and burial on Wednesday. Smith-Miner Funeral Home has been assisting the family here in Midland. Flowers will be received at the Kutis Funeral Home in St. Louis.
