Marilyn Ann “Tillie” France, 83, of Midland, died on Sept. 12, 2013 at the Toni and Trish House in Auburn, Michigan. Marilyn was born in Munising, MI on April 22, 1930 to the late Walter and Edna (Revord) Miller. Her family moved to St. Ignace, MI in 1945. Marilyn graduated from the Ursuline Academy “Our Lady of the Straits” in 1948. On April 20, 1949 she married her sweetheart, Clyde F. France in St. Ignace, MI. Later that same year Clyde and Marilyn moved to Midland where Clyde started a 36 year head operator career at the Dow Chemical Co., they made Midland their home for the rest of her life. Tillie enjoyed spending time at her cottage at Lake George, MI, and with her family and friends. Tillie is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Clyde; sons, Jeffrey (Brenda), Ted (Janet), Frank, Tim (Kelly), Joe (Carmen), Chris (Karen); 15 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; siblings, Judy Midyett, Walter Miller Jr., Dawn Nelson, and very special friends, Donald and Patricia Toland. Tillie was preceded in death by her children Sharon, Michael and Andrew; grandson Michael J. France and her siblings Gary Miller and Barbara Tapp. Tillie’s family would like to express special thanks to MMMC-Midland, Heartland Home Care and the Toni and Trish House. A Funeral Service will be held at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly on Monday, Sept. 16, 2013 at 11:00 am with Chaplain Chris Lauchner officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, Sept. 15 from 4 until 7 pm and on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
