Marjorie Ellen Meador, a long-time resident of Midland, died December 9 2015 at MidMichigan Medical Center after a brief illness.Born in 1928 in Big Rapids, Michigan, Marge received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Kentucky. She continued her education at the University of Michigan, from which she received a master?ÇÖs degree in social work and a profound love of Wolverine spirit and athletic departments.Marge?ÇÖs education and caregiving skill benefited more than fifty foster babies who resided in her home, some of whom remained in contact with Marge until her passing. She also enjoyed volunteering at the MidMichigan Medical Center and for the American Red Cross. Marge?ÇÖs hobbies included mock-refereeing televised sports and crossword puzzles.She is survived by her daughters Sally Jo Winek and Rebecca Bennett, both of Illinois; her son Gregory Meador, of Delaware; her son Tom Meador, of Virginia; nine beloved grandchildren; and siblings Sally Gibson, Lois Grotenrath, and Jim Franck, all of Michigan. Marge was preceded in death by her husband, Dock Meador, and by sisters Joan Waldron and Mary Anna Waldron.Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3701 Jefferson Avenue, Midland, Michigan.
