Welcome to Smith Miner

Michael Piper, 64, of Midland, our brave strong captain set sail for his final voyage on March 21, 2020 at MidMichigan Medical Center. He was born on March 21, 1956 to William and Dorothy (Lott) Piper. On June 16, 2016 he married Teresa Booth. They shared 19 years together.


Michael serviced his country in the United State Navy. He worked in auto repair in body shops locally. Michael was a Legionnaire at the Sanford Moose Lodge 2519. He enjoyed bowling and gardening. He loved the outdoors and truly enjoyed a good campfire.


Michael is survived by his wife, Teresa, brother, Robert (Christine) Piper, special friends, Shawn and Sherry Beauchamp, in-laws, Raymond and Alice Booth, several nieces and nephews, and his dogs, Snickers, Dahlia, Gidget.


A memorial service will be held at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the family in his name.
