Welcome to Smith Miner

Michele Faulk, 58, of Midland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 2, 2020. Her departure was the earthly conclusion of a lifetime spent as a priceless example of selflessness, graciousness, and love for others.

She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter with a radiant smile and sweet, willing disposition that encouraged all she met. Her full-time dedication to the Lord was reflected throughout her adulthood, and she served in a series of ministry-related roles that transported her across the globe. At the time of her death, she was ministering alongside her husband as a Baptist missionary to Southeast Asia.

In addition to juggling positions such as Sunday School teacher, English instructor, and office administrator, Michele quietly strove to bring glory to her Savior in all she did, cheerfully reflecting His grace and love throughout every community she visited. Next to her love for the Lord, her family was her greatest passion, and the world was her family. The impact she left is immeasurable—felt by thousands for generations to come.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Timothy Faulk; four children: Benjamin (Lovinda) Faulk, Emily (Chase) Vaughan, Seth Faulk, James (Julie) Faulk; and two grandchildren, Charles and Henry who deeply loved their “MeMe.” She is also survived by her mother, Phyllis Nuffer; brothers: Andrew Nuffer, Daniel (Jackie) Nuffer, and Thomas (Carol) Nuffer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 12pm on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Midland Baptist Church, 5009 Jefferson Ave, Midland, 48640 with officiation by Pastor Jim Payne and Michele’s husband, Missionary Tim Faulk. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, July 7th at Smith-Miner Funeral Home from 6-8 pm and at the church on Wednesday from 10am until the time of the service. A graveside service and burial will be conducted at 10am on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Memory Hill Cemetery in Dothan, Alabama. Because of COVID-19 restrictions, Livestream and Facebook Live will be enabled for those who wish to attend virtually.

Michele was one person who you never had to wonder who she served. With her humble demeanor and ready smile it just was so evident her life was focused towards Jesus, even if you met her for the first time. My daughter Christy mentioned this, and she was absolutely correct. Tim, your family and your ministry are to be very proud of, and I know you and Michele were great partners in both. A life very, very well lived.

Bro. Faulk, Marie and I are so sorry to hear of the passing of your wife, sister Michele. I cannot imagine the heartache and emptiness at the moment. Thank the Lord we know she is in glory. We pray that God will comfort you (II Corinthians 1:1-4) and the Comforter Himself (John 14:16) will overwhelm you at this time. We love you brother and are praying for you and the family.

The smile you see on Michelle’s face is what came out of her heart and you never saw her when she was not smiling. Her love for people was evident in her life and her life’s work. When you think about an example of the Proverbs 31 woman, you think about Michelle. I know there will be a huge hole in the ministry without her and she will be greatly missed by many. My thoughts and prayers are with Tim, all the children and extended family during this time. May God give you comfort that only He can give.

Anyone lucky enough to meet Michelle Faulk left knowing that they were loved. She radiated kindness, warmth, and generosity. Without her, our world is a bit darker, though we know her example lives on in all who knew her; the surest way to honor her memory would be to pay forward the love and care she gave so freely to others in our own lives.
