Milton Carl Tolly, 78, of Hope, died at MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland on April 23, 2011. Milton was born in Hope on November 6, 1932 to the late Anna Marie (Rogers) and Otis William Tolly. On Jan. 12, 1952 Milton married his sweetheart Lillian Whitmer in Middleton, MI. Milton was a lifetime member of Hope Baptist Church where he was the choir director for over 40 years, a Deacon for most of his adult life and provided audio ministry for the church. He worked for Dow Chemical as a Lab Tech retiring after 40 years of service. Milton had a great love for music and will be missed by everyone that knew him. Milton is survived by his loving wife Lillian; daughters, Bethany (Paul) McCurley of Chattanooga, TN, Janet (Ted) Herner of Elyria, OH, Dawn (Tye) Rausch of Farmers Branch, TX, Marla (Matthew) Hanna of Taiwan, Paula Tolly of Midland; son, John (Kathy) Tolly of Pound, WI; 16 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Richard (Bee) of Midland, Jim of Beaverton, Lowell (Ann) of Midland and many nieces and nephews. Milton was predeceased by his sister Ann Mishler; brothers John and DeWitt. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 27 atHope Baptist Church with Reverend Neil Wiggins officiating. Mr. Tolly’s family will receive friends at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly, on Tuesday, April 26, from 4 til 7 pm and on Wed. at the church from 10 am until the time of service.
