Nancy A. Blackhurst, 70, died on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at MidMichigan Medical Center. Nancy was born on August 4, 1944 in Mt. Clemens, MI to the late Lloyd and Elizabeth (Lewis) Frounfelter. On October 24, 1981 Nancy was married to Richard A. “Blackie” Blackhurst who preceded her in death on February 4, 2008.Nancy was employed by the Midland Public Schools, Design Craftsmen Inc. and Dow Chemical Company. She loved her job as event planner, show service and logistics manager dealing with trade shows for many and various clients throughout the United States. She also a volunteered for Literacy Council. Nancy enjoyed traveling throughout the states and Canada, motorcycling and collecting antiques. Sharing her many quilt creations with her family and friends gave her great pleasure. Her greatest love was her many summers spent with her husband on Neebish Island in the Upper Peninsula fishing and spending time with her family and friends.Nancy is survived by her children; Shelly Link, Amie (Scott) Munger, Timothy (Phyllis) Blackhurst, and Susan (Brian) Draper. She is also survived by her sister; Deborah (Steve) Sechler, aunt; Betty Lou Frounfelter, 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.Nancy was predeceased by her brother Thomas Frounfelter and one granddaughter Jenna Paige Munger.A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 3, 2014 at Smith-Miner Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Beebe officiating. Friends can visit with the family from 10:00 AM until the time of service.In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider The Jenna Paige Munger Scholarship Fund.
