Nancy J. Peters, 71, of Midland, died on Dec. 24, 2010 at the University of Michigan Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. Nancy was born on April 9, 1939 in Lakewood, Ohio to the late Vernon and Mildred (Waidley) Anderson. Nancy graduated from Rocky River High School, Class of 1957 and then attended Bowling Green State University where she met her husband Frederick R. Peters. The two were married on April 30, 1960 and recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. Nancy was a former Nursery School Teacher, she was an avid reader and gardener. She volunteered at MidMichigan Hospital and was a member of the Newcomers and Garden Club. Nancy was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Midland and the Englewood United Methodist Church of Englewood, Florida. Nancy is survived by her loving husband Fred; sons, David (Michele) Peters of Elyria, OH, Mark (Marybeth) Peters of East Liverpool, Oh; grandchildren, Andrew and his mother Jihan Peters, Brayden and Zoey. A Memorial Service will be held at First United Methodist Church, on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 1:00 pm with Reverend Dr. Charles Keyworth officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church from 12:00 noon until the time of the service.
