Obidio Javier Garcia, Sr, 71, of Mt. Pleasant passed away peacefully at MidMichigan Hospital in Midland surrounded by his family.  Obidio was born in Hebbronville, TX, son of Juan and Alicia Garcia who preceded him in death. 

Obidio received his degree in management in Texas.  He worked at McAllen Regional Hospital, managing 20 men and 20 ladies, in the Housekeeping Department until moving to Mt. Pleasant. Obidio (Jerry) loved sports, baseball, football and could talk about sports until he was blue in his face.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Martina Lopez Garcia, children; Obidio J. Garcia, Jr., Liza Delia (Julio) Rodriguez of Mt. Pleasant, Jaime J. (Cristine) Garcia of Winter Park, Florida, Roman (Edith) Garcia of Mt. Pleasant, Daniel Garcia of Mt. Pleasant, Daniel Murie of Mt. Pleasant, 17 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews.  He is also survived by his sisters, Alicia G. Reyes, Marie Elena Reyes and niece, Alma Daleon, brother-in-law, Tony (Kathy) Lopez of Mt Pleasant, Jesse (Jainne) Lopez of Mt. Pleasant, Irene (Roland) Garcia of Mt. Pleasant, Richard Lopez of Mt. Pleasant, Eddie (Percilla) Lopez of Tucson, AZ, Dianie (Rick) Shawano of Tucson, AZ, and Mike (Sherrie) Lopez of Mt. Pleasant.

Cremation has taken place as per his wishes.  A memorial will take place in the very near future.  Condolences may be sent to 5405 W. Greendale Court, Mt. Pleasant, MI 48858.

We will miss you forever Jerry. Rest in Peace. Love, All your family.
