Owen Raymond Patrick, 57, of Sanford, died on Sunday, Aug. 5 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland after a long valiant fight with cancer. Owen was born in Midland on June 4, 1955 to Phyllis Laplow and the late Raymond Patrick. On Aug. 26, 2000 Owen married his sweetheart Lissa Gard. Owen was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He loved archery and taught archery classes for kids, he was also a past member of Mid-Michee Bowman. Owen was a car enthusiast, loved deer camp, pistol compitition and loading his own ammo. But especially Owen loved and enjoyed his grandchildren. Owen is survived by his loving wife Lissa; his mother Phyllis; daughter Jesseca (Kevin) Elza; sons, Noah (Danielle) Brewster, Peter (David) Brewster; grandchildren, Rese, Eli, Natali, Bryson, Maggie; sisters, ZoeAnn (Dave)Spangler, Laurie (Vern) Moldenhauer; brothers, Joe (Renee) Patrick, Fred (Laurie) Patrick and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly on Wednesday, Aug. 8 at 11:00 am with Pastor Don Duford officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, on Tuesday, Aug. 7 from 5 til 8 pm and on Wednesday from 10 am until the time of the service. A private burial will take place at Midland City Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Owen’s family in his honor.
