Patricia A. BeesonPatricia Beeson, 77, of Midland, died at home on Thursday, May 6, 2010. Patricia was born in Washington D.C. on August 21, 1932 to the late Edward and Beatrice (McGuire) Reilly. She spent her childhood in Larchmont, NY and then moved to Battle Creek as a junior in high school. She graduated from Ursuline Academy in San Antonio, TX in 1950. While attending St. Philip High School in Battle Creek, Patricia met James Beeson. They were married on June 20, 1953. He predeceased her on January 24, 2009. Patricia graduated from Mercy School of Nursing in Detroit in 1953 and enjoyed her career as a Registered Nurse, working at hospitals in Indiana, Michigan, New York, and finally here at MidMichigan Medical Center where she remained until her retirement in 1990. Pat was a long time member of Blessed Sacrament Parish. She was a marvelous cook and enjoyed gardening. Her greatest joy was her family. Pat?ÇÖs love and support of her children and grandchildren was absolute, a quintessential Irish mother. She was affectionately known as Honey by her grandchildren whom she treasured. She was a much loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will deeply missed.Pat is survived by her son Robert Beeson of Burlington, VT, currently serving in Afghanistan; her daughters Margaret (Jeffrey) Seeburger of Midland and Mary (Ronald) Ellis of Swanton, VT; her six grandchildren, Katherine, Molly, Anne and Quinn Seeburger and Grace and James Ellis; her sisters Therese Barchuk of DeBary, FL, Margaret LaMassa of Wyndham, PA, Beatrice Oehl of Pleasantville, NY and Cleo Reilly of Portland, OR; her brother-in-law, Richard (Jessie) Beeson of Sacramento, CA ; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Jim, she was preceded in death by her sons James Michael and Thomas Gerard; her brother, Edward J. Reilly; her step-mother who raised her, Cleo Metz; as well as several sisters-and-brothers-in-law.A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Fr. Peter J. Gaspeny officiating. Burial will be at New Calvary Cemetery.Pat?ÇÖs family will receive visitors at Smith-Miner Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 11 from 5-7 p.m. and at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass.
