Preston L. Marsh, 97, died peacefully at home on August 16, 2013. Preston was born on June 5, 1916, in Edenville Township, to the late Royal and Celian (Nolan) Marsh. On Aug. 16, 1941 Preston married his sweetheart Alleen Cole in Grand Ledge. Preston was a self-taught inventor with numerous agricultural inventions to his credit including the Liliston-Marsh bean windrower and sugar beet lifter kits and many others. He enjoyed making maple syrup and he loved and enjoyed his family. Preston is survived by his loving wife Alleen; daughters, Linda Harrison and Barbara Marsh; son, Calvin (Molly) Marsh; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren. Preston was predeceased by his two sons, Gerald and Royal; 1 sister and 4 brothers. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013 atthe Seventh Day Adventist Church in Edenville with Pastors Christien Hodet and Russell Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly, on Monday, Aug. 19, 2013 from 4:00 pm until 7 pm and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
