Ralph E. Hignite, 84, of Midland, died on Jan. 4, 2010. Ralph was born on April 11, 1925 in Midland, to the late James and Trinvilla (Hardy) Hignite. He later married his sweetheart Ann Endline in Midland on Dec. 14, 1970. Ralph honorably served the U.S. during World War II in Europe from Aug. 1943 till Sept. 1945. He worked for Dow Chemical for over 40 years retiring in 1984. He loved to fish, golf, bowl and watching sports. Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 39 years Ann; daughters, Christina (Richard) Boman, Gretchen (Ronald) Mann, Debra (Rob) Van Horn, June Reed, Judith (Herb) Deitach; sons, Ralph Hignite Jr., Dennis (Cindi) Hignite, Steven Hignite, Carl-Bud (Deanna) Endline, Fred Hignite; 30 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Ralph was preceded in death by his children Julie Miller and Bruce Endline and by 6 brothers and 1 sister. A Funeral Service will be held at St. John?ÇÖs Lutheran Church on Thursday Jan. 7, at 11:00 am with Pastor Daniel Kempin officiating. The family will receive friends at Smith-Miner Funeral Home on Wed. Jan. 6 from 4 til 7 pm and on Thursday at the church from 10:00 until the time of the service.
