Raymond B. Kubczak, 74, of Midland died on Thursday, September 24, 2009, at home surrounded by his family. Ray was born on Dec. 4, 1934 in Bay City to the late Josephine Froncek and Bernard Kubczak. He later married his sweetheart Mary Rose Freeman in Midland on March 12, 1983. Ray served in the United States Army in 1964. He loved fishing and was an avid golfer with a membership at Twin Oaks golf course for 13 yrs. He was a pilot for over 30 years and kept his plane at the James Clements Airport. Ray is survived by his wife Mary Rose; daughters Connie (Richard) LeMire of Bay City, Kathleen (Scott) May of Traverse City, Heidi (David) Bouckaert of Essexville; sons, Richard (Kendra) Kubczak of Beaverton, Dale (Carol Shea) Kubczak of Midland, Tim (Teri) May of New Zealand, Terry (Gayle) Kubczak of Sanford, Brian (Jamie) May of Midland; grandchildren, R.J., Christin, Terry M., Michael, Amanda, Jessica, Christopher, Nicholas, Mitchell, Alix, Keenan, Hailee, Marisa, Miranda, Jarred, Brandon, Jacob; great grandchildren, Dylan, Brandon, Kayle; father-in-law James and Bernice Freeman of Dover, Ind.; brothers-in-law Kenneth (Barbara) Freeman and Thomas (Henrietta) Freeman. Ray was preceded in death by his sister Sally Korthals and brother-in-law Jerry Korthals A Funeral Service will be held at Smith-Miner Funeral Home on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 11:00 am with Deacon Al Oliver of St. Brigid of Kildare officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 4 till 7 pm and on Tuesday from 10:00 until the time of the service.
