Richard Sheldon Tolly, 87, of Midland, died on Jan. 25, 2013 at MidMichigan Stratford Village. Richard was born on in Temperance, MI on January 23, 1926 to the late Otis William and Anna Marie (Rogers) Tolly. On July 24, 1955 Richard married his sweetheart Virgilene Marie Ballard at Bard Evangelical United Brethren Church in Gladwin. Richard served his country honorably during WWII in the US Army Air Corp serving on the Tinian and Saipan Islands. He worked for Dow Chemical from 1947 to 1970 before retiring, then he worked for Chemical Bank until he retired in 1982. He loved singing, photography and antique automobiles. Richard is survived by his loving wife Virgilene; daughters, Dianna (Tom) Williams of Warsaw, IN, Karen (Robert) Ewald of Laurenburg, NC, Audiene (Richard) Stamp of Midland; sons, Dan (Sharon) Tolly of Tampa, FL, Paul (Mary Ann) Tolly of Midland, MI, Bradford (Annette) Tolly of McKinney, TX; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brothers Jim Tolly of Beaverton and Lowell (Ann) Tolly of Midland. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, January 28, 2013 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Midland. The family will receive friends at the Church from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
