Robert (Bob) J. Pierce II died in his home on January 24, 2014. He was born May 9, 1963, in Lansing, MI to Robert and Annette (Netterfield) Pierce. Bob graduated from Midland High School and received his mechanical engineering degree from the University of Nevada Reno in 1986 where he developed a love of the mountains and the great outdoors. He also enjoyed speed skating, snow and skateboarding and many automotive and motocross competitions.Bob’s engineering skills enabled him to design and fabricate processes for chemical, pharmaceutical and NASCAR industries. He enjoyed the challenge of operating his own business, Pierce Enterprises, but he felt most fulfilled when he was developing a new idea or helping others to fulfill their dreams, particularly the younger generation.Bob is survived by his sisters, Ann (Mark) Moeller of Lansing, MI and Elizabeth (John Kovl) Pierce of Midland and his brother Steve (Devon) Pierce of Dunedin, FL. He is also survived by his niece, Katherine Moeller and nephews, Steven Moeller, Nathaniel, Adam and Grayson Pierce and his grandfather, George Netterfield of Palm Harbor, FL. as well as many loving friends.A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at St Brigid of Kildare with Fr. Patrick O’Connor officiating.
