Welcome to Smith Miner

Bob Cyr passed quietly away into the waiting arms of Jesus on Thursday, December 7th at his home. He was born in Cooks Mills, Ontario, Canada on July 10, 1949 to the late George and Rita (Keegan) Cyr. On August 11, 1973 Bob married Darlene Cox and they moved to Midland, Michigan the next day. He graduated for Waterloo University and went on to work for Dow Corning for 29 years as a Chemical Engineer.

Bob loved hunting and fishing with his “little buddies” or just sitting out in the woods smoking his cigar on a beautiful sunny day. You could find Bob most days in the summer either sitting out by the meat smoker or riding his Club Cadet mowing the lawn. His pride and joy was his only grandchild, Sophia.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Darlene, his son, Matthew (April) Cyr and granddaughter Sophia Madison. He is also survived by his siblings, Georgianne (George) Morissey, Louise (Dan) Yockell, Joyce (Albert) Munkasci, Daniel (Chris) Cyr, brothers-in law, Donald Cox, Jim (Sharon Guitrd) Cox and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was predeceased by his sweet daughter, Morgan, his sister, Susan and baby Cyr.

Special thanks to the Invasive Imaging staff for the many months of quality care and great friendship for Bob. He appreciated you all.

Cremation has already taken place and there will be no visitation at this time. A celebration of Bob’s life will take place next July when laughter will be more abundant and good memories can be shared.

If you would like to consider an expression of sympathy, Bob has chosen The Open Door of Midland. Thank you to all on his behalf.

Smith-Miner Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be left at smithminer.com.
