Robert E. Kruger, 81, of Midland, passed away on December 19th, 2017 surrounded by his family after a brief illness. Bob was born on April 28th, 1936 in Midland, son of the late Ernest and Vivian (Schaub) Kruger. On December 11th, 1969 he married the former Ginger Babcock.
Bob was born and raised on a farm in Lee Township. He was a 1955 graduate of Midland High School. He worked for The Dow Chemical Company retiring after 35 years of service. While at Dow he worked mainly in the heavy equipment department later becoming crew chief.
Bob spent many busy years after retirement as a member of the Lee Township Fire Department.
He was an active member of the Gordonville United Methodist Church as well as the Gleaners Life Insurance Society.
Bob enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, fishing, woodworking, home repairs, remodeling and tinkering with his tractors. He loved helping family and others with anything they needed.
Bob and Ginger have 5 children, Robert A. (Becky Thorp) Kruger, Brian (Marj) Moore, Jori (Kent Scott) Coster, Rodney (Sharon) Kruger and Cindy (Aaron) Dopp as well as 8 grandchildren, Doug Kruger, Scott (Rachel) Kruger, Courtney (Jim Roche) Coster, Brian Coster, Nathan Kruger, Gina Dopp, AJ Dopp and Skyler Kruger; and 14 great grandchildren; Kari, Cassie, Hunter, Danny, Nick, Alex, Tillie, Rayne, Ben, Hayden, Hayley, Sadie, Grace and Samantha.
Bob was preceded in death by his son Rod, daughter Cindy, and grandson Brian.
In accordance with Bobâ€™s wishes cremation has taken place and a private family service is being held with no visitation.
