Robert ?Ç£Rob?Ç¥ W. Booth, 42, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015 after an incredibly courageous battle with Esophageal Cancer. Robert was born on December 31, 1972 to Robert S. and Eunice (Hiltunen) Booth. Rob was born and raised in Freeland, Michigan, graduating from Freeland High School in 1991. He attended Delta College, graduating with an Associate degree in Applied Science in Criminal Justice. His law enforcement career began as a Reserve Officer in the City of Frankenmuth, then as a Patrol Officer in the City of Coleman and Carrollton Township prior to joining the Midland Police Department in 1999. Rob went on to be promoted to Patrol Sergeant in 2013.Rob has been recognized for his professionalism and service to the community both on and off duty. For his outstanding work and dedication, Rob was presented the Carl and Esther Gerstacker Police Officer of the Year Award in 2012. Rob was instrumental in orchestrating the first annual Midland Police Department Team to work with the Habitat for Humanity Neighborhood Revitalization Project. In addition he served on the Midland Police Department Accident Investigation Team and also as a Field Training Officer.Rob was also owner and operator of Badge Construction. He was a member of the Blue Knights and Masons Lodge #273. He was also an amazing father to his two young daughters Kady and Rae. In his free time, Rob enjoyed camping, fishing, mountain biking, kayaking, and riding his Harley with the Blue Knights. In addition to his parents, Rob is survived by his loving wife and best friend Anne (L?ÇÖEsperance) Booth, his two daughters, Kennady and Raegan Booth; stepchildren, Nicole and Zachary; brother, Mike Booth; sisters, Michelle (Kevin) Silbaugh and Rachel Booth; grandmother, Betty Booth; his loyal Bassett Hound ?Ç£Petunia?Ç¥; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.He was pre-deceased by his paternal grandfather, Billy Booth and maternal grandparents, Emil and Irene Hiltunen.Rob will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and co-workers.A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Midland Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Payne officiating. Visitation will be held at Smith-Miner Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 4-7pm and at the church on Thursday at 10:00 am until time of service.
