Ronald Rousseau, 64, of Sanford, Michigan, died on May 16, 2012 in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Ronald was born on July 6, 1947 in Massachusetts to the late Robert and Wilma (Andrews) Rousseau. On Jan. 25, 1969 Ronald married his sweetheart Judy Leutritz. Ronald served in the U.S. Army as a Paratrooper and obtained the rank of Sergeant. After serving honorably in the Army, Ronald was a member of the Saginaw Police Dept. for 27 yrs. as a Patrolman, Detective and on the SWAT Team. He joined the National Guard and was Company Commander of the Armories in Alpena, Cheboygan and Flint. Ronald also worked at the Headquarters in Lansing and the 46th Brigade in Grand Rapids. He was member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Life member of Military Officers Club and the American Legion. Ronald was also the Chief Firearms Instructor at Delta College for 24 years. Ronald is survived by his loving wife Judy; son, Noel (Lillian) and their children MacKenzie, Trinity and Grayson of Clarksville, TN, son, Grel (Amy) and their children Madison and Allison of Frankenmuth; sister, Vera Roszak of Oscoda and brothers, Daniel and Richard. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly, with Chaplain Ray Moore of the National Guard officiating. Burial will follow at Jerome Township Cemetery.The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Thursday, June 28 from 4 until 7 pm and on Friday from 10 am until the time of the service.Military Honors will be under the auspices of the United States Army, the Midland County Veterans and the Saginaw City Police Department.Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Police Widows and Orphans’ Fund or Military Veterans.Online condolences can be left at www.smithminer.com
