Ruth Ann Ostahowski, 92, of Midland, passed away on July 27, 2018 at Independence Village with family at her side. She was born on September 22, 1925 to the late Calvin Leroy and Minnie (Farnsworth) Palmer. She married Anthony “Tony” Ostahowski on August 30th, 1947 at St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church.

Ruth belonged to the Homer Township Home Extension. Everything was about family, around camping and spending quality time. She loved doing everything with them and spending quality time with them. Her family meant the world to her.

Ruth is survived by her husband Anthony “Tony”, her two sons Gary (Vera) Ostahowski, Mark (Suzanne) Ostahowski and daughter Janice Nelson, grandchildren; Paige, Robyn, Brooke, Dan, and Kate, one great grandchild Cameron.

Ruth was predeceased by her brothers, Harvey, Al, Grant, Glenn, Clare, Palmer, and one sister Murl Shaver.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at St. Brigid of Kildare with Fr. James Bessert officiating, entombment will follow at the New Calvary Mausoleum. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday evening August 1, 2018 from 4-7pm at Smith-Miner Funeral Home and on Thursday from 9 am until time of service at the church. A vigil service will take place Wednesday evening at 6:30pm at the funeral home.
