(November 21, 1990 – May 4, 2010)

On May 4, 2010, our beloved son, Samuel William Johnson, 19, of Midland went to be with the Lord, as a result of an automobile accident. Sam was born in North Richland Hills, TX to David and Susan (Cropp) Johnson, on November 21, 1990. He was home schooled through the 6th grade, attended the Midland Academy and then graduated from Dow High School in 2009. After graduation he has been attending Delta College to pursue a degree in graphic arts. Sam was a member of the National Art Honor Society. Sam worked for the Midland Country Club for three years. He attended the Christian Celebration Center and went to the Midland Evangelical Free Church for youth programs. He loved snowboarding and sporty cars. He was an avid graphic designer and had a great love of people. Sam is survived by his parents David and Susan of Midland; brother, Daniel of Midland; sister, April Johnson of Topeka, KS and her children, Cheyenne Granger, Jared Poledna, Tiffany Poledna and Gabriel Johnson; grandparents, Elizabeth Johnson of Midland, W. Bruce Johnson of Medina, OH, Helen Donithan of Salem, WV; aunts, Karen (Dennis) Cubic of Spencer, OH, Lynn Johnson of Denver, CO, Cindy (Tom) Aspy of Salem, WV, Beth Vaught of Orlando, FL; uncles, Jim (Amy) Johnson of Maumee, OH, Michael (Frances) Cropp of Guernville, CA; and numerous friends. Sam was predeceased by his grandfather Billie Cropp. A Funeral Service will be held at the Christian Celebration Center on Tuesday, May 11, at 4:00 pm with Reverend Joel Stocker officiating. The family will receive friends at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly, on Monday, May 10 from 4 to 8 pm and at the church from 3 pm until the time of the service.
