Shirley Ann Roberts, 78, died Sunday, August 9th, 2015. Shirley was born September 5, 1936 in Midland to the late C. Ralph and Lillian C. (Schwartz) Brown. She married Joseph Roberts on January 31, 1959.Shirley was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family. She cherished her annual vacations to Treasure Island, family cruises, and tailgating at football games. She also enjoyed the holidays when all of the family came together. Fourth of July at Wixom Lake and all the Christmas festivities were the times she enjoyed most. Shirley and Joe were a team and did everything together. They loved traveling, dinner with friends and most of all sharing life together. They enjoyed their many visits to Las Vegas where Shirley was passionate about winning at video poker.Shirley was a member of the Midland Country Club where she was involved in many activities over the years, including golfing and bowling. She also enjoyed her monthly bridge club with great friends. Shirley was a member of Blessed Sacrament.Shirley is survived by her husband, Joe, children; Pamela (Clay) Engwis, Steve (Donna) Roberts, Sheryl (Steve) Socha and Dave (Susan) Roberts, grandchildren; Melissa and Lauren Socha, Danny and Megan Roberts, Katherine Engwis, Libbie, Emily and Madeleine Roberts. She is also survived by her sister, Kathy (Tom) Roberts, In-laws; Donna Roberts, Mary Jane (Joe) Howe, Jim Bukowski, Carol Roberts, Pat (Don) Christansen, Richard (Gayle) Roberts, Maureen (Chip) Place and John (Karen) Roberts and many nieces and nephews.Shirley was predeceased by her mother and father in law Ursula and Gene Roberts, brother, Ron Brown, sister in law Colleen Bukowski, and brothers-in-law Jim and Mike Roberts.A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Blessed Sacrament with Fr. Nick Coffaro officiating. Visitation will be held at Smith-Miner Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 12th from 4 to 7 pm with a Vigil Service at 6:30 p.m., and at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
