Wendell G.(Bing) Crosby passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Tendercare in Midland after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer?ÇÖs. He was born in Hope, MI on August 30, 1935 to Cecil and Marie (Havens) Crosby. Bing married Lois (Maloney) Crosby on August 10, 1973. Early in his career Bing worked with his father and brother, Jim, for Crosby Builders as a finished carpenter. He retired from Mid-Michigan Regional Medical Center, Midland after 20 years of service in the Maintenance Department. Bing could repair any number of things and was often called upon to help in a pinch and never refused. Bing was kind and gentle and had a quiet reserve but a quick wit that presented itself always at the right time.Bing is survived by his wife, Lois, his children, David (Teresa) Babcock, Wendy (Steve) Prax, Bill Crosby, Liz (Flent) Brubaker, Tricia Crosby and his daughter-in-law Kari Babcock. He is also survived by his siblings Shirley (Max) Guernsey, Rose Steele, Doris Steele, and Jim (Ellen) Crosby and 13 grand children and 11 great-grand children.Bing was predeceased by his parents, his mother-in-law Sophia (Thornton) Maloney, sons Daniel and Timothy Babcock, sisters Carol (Crosby) Bradshaw and Marlene (Crosby) Schultz, and brothers-in-Law Richard Steele and Floyd Steele .The funeral services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Lara Heise and Rev. David Brown officiating. Visitation will be at Smith-Miner Funeral Home on Monday, August 25, 2014 from 4-7pm and on Tuesday at the church from 10 am until the time of service. Interment will be at Midland City Cemetery with graveside services to be held directly following the funeral.In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to First Baptist Church, 915 E.
